This is a "work-in-progress" page, here I want to report hotels and facilities where I've been and where I would advise you for that "something different" distinguishing from many offers we look for, when we have to choose places to spend the night ... Around the world!
Arabian Courtyard Hotel (Dubai, UAE)
Are you tired of skyscrapers and shopping malls? You cannot stand the "compulsive shopping" tourism? Well, even in a city all windows and designer shops, you can find a characteristic corner that could offer a touch of genuine Arabic hospitality. Located in the center of the old city of Dubai in front of the XVI sec. fort in, just a few blocks from the pier to cross the Creek, the strait that and divides the old town from the district of Deira. The structure is of course in Arabic style, very well kept. As soon as you exit from the hotel you are directly in the neighborhood of Bastakiah, among dozens of small shops, food stalls, the Spice and the Gold Souqs, in addition to the many local bars and restaurants, maybe not so clean but undoubtedly fascinating.

Indeco Mahabalipuram (TamilNadu)
This is not just a hotel. Staying in this complex also means enter and live a part of history. It houses a museum with many testimonies of Madras' colonial past, the suite dedicated to Sir Eilahu Yale (who became famous in the eighteenth century, as the founder of the prestigious American University of Connecticut), but also and above all the Victorian style pavilions that in the eighteenth century housed the noble elite of the British Empire, during their summer holidays in the Indian colony.
The kitchen and the services offered should not be up to the most renowned five stars resorts, but the staff courtesy and friendliness will make your stay as a unique experience.

Las Cabanas Beach Resort (Philippines)
For another eco-friendly property, that allow to better enjoy the beautiful natural surroundings, I want to report my stay at this family-run hotel, beautifully inserted into the crystal clear bays of El Nido, the spectacular northern Philippine island of Palawan. Solar energy allows you to have electric lights and fans working 24 hours a day, while the 220 volts electric power is supplied only from 6PM to 6AM. But the energy constraints should not scare: here you can really live in a wonderful symbiosis with the quiet rhythm of the sea, the breeze, the sun and the sea creatures. The bungalows are spotless and all have a veranda overlooking the beach. The owners, Daniel and Bhing will welcome, making you immediately feel "at home".
Siripanna Villa Resort & Spa
A very interesting property, near Chiang Mai, in northern Thailand. If you plan to visit this part of the country is great base of support. The philosophy of the resort is wellness intended in all its meanings.
From the very complete Spa, continuing with Ayurvedic paths based on the cultivation of rice and lotus, the garden swimming pool surrounded by greenery, the relaxing music that accompany your every step, from the gym to the restaurant, from the library to the art gallery, all complemented by the smile, the kindness and exquisite courtesy typical of Thai people culture. If you go there, you'll want to come back!

La Natura resort (Philippines)
This property requires some particular words... I stayed there recently and already feel a strong nostalgia for this environment and the people who work there. Do you like the beach Hotel? Do not go to LaNatura. Do you love the aircon in Antarctic version and the minibar full of Icy spirits? Do not go to LaNatura. Are you like night owls who like to err on the nightlife, among disco-bar, trendy waterfront and loud music? Do not go to LaNatura.
Conversely, if you appreciate the tranquility that only a bungalow nestled in the tropical forest can give you, the beauty of an exotic garden with thousands of colorful flowers, the attentive staff, friendly and always smiling, who knows how make you feel at ease right since the first night, you surely will appreciate this small resort in the heart of Busuanga island, 15 minutes from the city center of Coron.
